The Wall Dimensioning command in BIMLOGIQ Copilot enables Revit users to generate linear wall dimensions quickly and accurately. With multiple selection methods, thickness filtering, and reference options, this Revit AI tool streamlines dimensioning for design, documentation, and construction workflows.
Dimensioning Method
Choose from three flexible methods to define which walls should be dimensioned:
By Two Points – Pick two points on the plan; dimensions are created for all walls intersected by the line.
From Selection – Manually select multiple walls and apply dimensions to the group.
From Selection Regions – Dimension walls within selected regions separately, ideal for grouped layouts.
Wall Selection
Depending on the method, walls can be selected manually, by intersecting lines, or through defined regions—adapting to different design workflows.
Wall Thickness Limitation
Set a wall thickness threshold to ignore thin partitions or non-structural walls. This keeps dimensions focused on major structural elements.
Dimension Type
Supports only linear dimension types for clean, consistent output. Users can select their preferred linear style according to project standards.
Dimension Reference
Choose whether dimensions are created from the wall’s center line or faces, providing flexibility for both design intent and construction accuracy.
Include Total Length
Enable this option to add a dimension string showing the total span from the first to the last wall reference.
Use Cases
Residential Floor Plans
Automatically generate room-to-room wall dimensions using From Selection for efficient layout documentation.Renovation & Survey Work
Use By Two Points to dimension walls along corridors or alignments based on site measurements.Detailed Construction Drawings
Create precise face-of-wall dimensions and total lengths for accurate material estimation and site verification.Filter Out Non-Structural Walls
Apply thickness limits to exclude partitions and keep documentation clean.
