Convert Spreadsheet to Revit Schedule

Import Excel files into Revit and recreate them as schedules while preserving formatting.

Overview

This BIMLOGIQ Copilot command enables users to import Excel files into Revit and recreate them as schedules, preserving the original Excel formatting. The feature helps maintain synchronized data between external spreadsheets and Revit project schedules.

Importing New Excel Files

The import process allows direct creation of Revit schedules from Excel sources with the following configuration options:

  • Mode selection: Import
  • Excel file selection
  • Optional sheet placement specification
  • Excel formula recalculation toggle
  • File path mode choice (Relative or Absolute)

The documentation provides three example files — IPE, INP, and IPB — each generating a distinct schedule within Revit.

Updating Existing Schedules

Previously imported schedules can be refreshed using Update mode, which automatically uses the stored file path without requiring file reselection. All associated schedules refresh instantly upon update.

For relocated files, the Update from File option enables selection of the new Excel file path.

Automatic File Path Management

Saving file paths in either Relative or Absolute format ensures schedules remain updatable without additional configuration, supporting ongoing workflow automation.

Key Benefits

  • Reduces repetitive manual processes
  • Maintains Excel-Revit data synchronization
  • Enhances efficiency for large or frequently modified datasets
  • Provides reliable, consistent schedule operations
