Clone Project Elements Between Revit Files

Copy and transfer elements from external Revit files into active projects to streamline content management.

The Clone Project Elements command in BIMLOGIQ Copilot allows Revit professionals to transfer elements from an external Revit (.rvt) file into their current project. This feature supports reusing standard families, consolidating content, and moving detail components while reducing repetitive work.

Key Features

Revit File Selection

Browse and select an external Revit project file as your source for cloning elements.

Choosing Elements to Clone

View available elements from the source file and select which ones to transfer into your current project. The interface supports multiple selections and includes a dynamic ’+’ button for multi-category selection.

Filtering by Category

Narrow your search by category — such as Structural Framing, Generic Models, or Annotations — to quickly locate and transfer only needed content.

Use Cases

  • Reusing Content Across Projects: Transfer title blocks, tags, or system families between projects to maintain consistent documentation standards.
  • Template and Library Development: Assemble comprehensive Revit templates or libraries by gathering frequently used elements from various projects.
  • Saving Time in Project Setup: Skip repetitive element creation by importing directly from existing models.
