1. Creating and Managing Templates
Templates in Smart Annotation enable you to save and reuse annotation settings across views and projects. The toolbar at the top of the Settings window provides the following options:
1.1 Create a New Template
• Click or add new tag to start a new configuration from scratch.

1.2 Save Your Template
• Once your tag settings are defined, click the Save As button to store the template.
• Assign a clear, project-relevant name (e.g., Architecture_Plan_2020) for easy reuse in future views, projects, or team-wide standards.

1.3 Import / Export Templates
• Click the Import button (folder icon) to load an existing template.
• Click the Export button (folder icon) to save your current configuration in a portable file for sharing or backup.

1.4 Generate from Active View
• Click the Generate from View button to scan the current view and create a new template based on the existing tags and placements.
• This is ideal for converting manually tagged pilot views into reusable standards.
These options streamline standardization and ensure consistency across your team or firm.
