This command imports Excel files into Revit and recreates them as schedules, preserving the original Excel formatting. It helps streamline data integration, reduce manual work, and keep schedules synchronized with external spreadsheets.
Importing New Excel Files
The command allows users to create new Revit schedules directly from Excel files.
Inputs include:
Mode selection: Import
Choosing the Excel file
Optional sheet placement for the schedule
Option to recalculate Excel formulas
File path mode (Relative or Absolute)
Three example Excel files—IPE, INP, and IPB—are imported, each generating a new schedule inside Revit.
Updating Existing Schedules
Users can update previously imported schedules after modifying the Excel files.
When using Update mode:
The stored file path is used automatically
No need to reselect the Excel file
All related schedules refresh instantly
If the file location has changed, Update from File lets users select the new Excel file path.
Automatic File Path Handling
Saving the Excel path (Relative or Absolute) ensures schedules can be updated in the future without additional setup, maintaining a consistent and automated workflow.
Benefits
Eliminates repetitive manual operations
Keeps schedules synced with Excel data
Improves efficiency for large or frequently updated datasets
Ensures reliable, consistent schedule creation and updating within Revit
